We are all still getting used to our family's new normal, but overall, the transition has been a smooth one, and we are all loving this precious gift that God has given us. Thank you all for your prayers and support the last several weeks... our family has been very well cared for, and we are so grateful!
So what now?
We press onward!
While we trust God's perfect timing for our arrival, we are eager to deploy to Thailand and begin our training so that we can take the Gospel to the people of Isaan. Why? Because there are 22 million people in Isaan who have never had the opportunity to hear the good news that they can be reconciled to a Holy God. 22 million people who do not know that they were created to reflect the image of their Creator. 22 million people who will die hopelessly dependent on their "merit," having never heard that Jesus was the perfect "merit-maker," and has canceled the debt against all those who put their faith in Him.
Unless someone tells them.
We feel called to go. But we cannot go unless we are sent. The infographic below depicts our remaining need. Those 35 people on the chart represent the remaining monthly partners we need to come along side us so that we can deploy. Can you see yourself as one of them?
If you feel called to send us by partnering with us in this mission through monthly giving, you can click on the link below:
As part of our preparation with Pioneers, we both have required Bible coursework to complete. This summer, we will both be taking an Old Testament Survey course.
We are planning a larger trip for later in the summer (late July/ early August) to meet with as many churches and people along the east coast as possible. If you know of any churches or friends who would possibly be interested in hearing about Isaan, we are grateful for any connections!
As always, we are so very grateful for your prayers. Please continue to pray with us that God would bring in the remaining monthly partners and help us to use our time in the states to wisely prepare for life in Thailand.
And please pray with us that even now God would be doing a work in the hearts of the Isaan people in Nakhon Phanom. We believe the harvest is plentiful, but we know the laborers are few.
"Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen." (Ephesians 3:20-21)
