Wing of Bird and Head of Fish

Wing of Bird and Head of Fish...

The start of a magic potion? Nope... just things the kiddos found in the road on our last walk through our new neighborhood! In some ways, life in Thailand is very different from our life in the States.
After about 27 hours of travel, we landed in Chiang Mai, Thailand on January 26th at 5:30 in the morning... which meant we still had the entire day ahead of us to push through for jet lag adjustment.
Thanks to the hard work of our teammates, we already had a house to settle into, and we have been working on setting it up to feel like home. Here is a picture of our new living space.
They call this the "honeymoon stage" of culture shock, and it seems aptly named, as we have thoroughly loved our first couple of weeks here.
Mealtimes are an exciting part of the day that we all look forward to; even Baby Silas is a fan of all of this Thai food!

In so many ways, Chiang Mai is a beautiful place to live with lots of fun things to do and see. We even have a Thai church that we get to be a part of during this season while we are here to learn the language, and we are so grateful for this chance to learn from our Thai brothers and sisters in Christ.

We long to see God build His Kingdom here.

Please pray with us.

We are so grateful for your prayers... every email, message, and text that we have received since we arrived letting us know that you are praying for us has meant so very much to us! Please continue to pray with us.
  • Next week we will officially begin our language lessons. We have two Thai tutors who will be coming into our home to teach us. Please pray that our ears, tongues, and minds will be quick to absorb this new language.
  • Please pray that we will continue to adjust well to life here, especially our children.
  • Please pray that we would make both Buddhist and Christian Thai friends while we are here.
  • We will be looking for a vehicle this next week. Please pray that God would provide the perfect one for our family.
  • Please pray that we would always seek Him first in all of these things.

"Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen."
