Expect the Unexpected

We've had a series of unexpected circumstances since our last newsletter. No doubt, with Hurricane Matthew's lengthy trek up the southeastern coast, many of you experienced the excitement with us last week, either weathering the storm or evacuating from its path. We chose to stay here for the hurricane, and we are grateful for the extra family time and memories made because of the storm. A highlight for the kiddos? Shoe racing in the rainwater current during Hurricane Matthew! Click to watch a short video below:
Now that the storm has passed, we are getting the house ready to go back on the market. Our original sale fell through, and we are ready to tackle round two of home-showings! Fortunately, while Matthew left a lot of yard work to be done, it also provided David with several days off, so we have had lots of time restoring and grooming the yard as a family!
Please pray for grace for all of us as we try again to keep a show-ready house with three little munchkins on the loose. :)
Our last, but most exciting news... we are overjoyed that God is bringing another child into our family! It has been something we have prayed over for a while now, and we are excited to welcome Baby 4 into our family sometime next May!
We are learning to hold our plans and timeline incredibly loosely, and instead to cling to the Sovereign hand who is Lord of all. Whatever delay this precious baby may bring to getting on the field, we trust His perfect timing and eagerly await the day that He has appointed for our family (of 6!) to arrive in Thailand.
THANK YOU so much to all of you who are praying daily for our family, for our team, and for the people of Isaan! We are certain that the most valuable use of our time each day is spent on our knees!
Will you join us in prayer right now?
  • Please pray with us for the 22 million people in Isaan, most of whom have never heard about their Creator and King or heard the Gospel.
  • Pray for our teammates, the W family, who arrived in Thailand a few months ago and are working hard to learn the Thai language and adjust to a new culture.
  • Pray that God would continue to prepare our family, as well as our teammates, the S family, for life on the field and raise up more people to partner with us in this mission through prayer and financial giving.
  • Pray that God would call MANY MORE laborers to GO!
We pray in faith because He is able! "Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen." Ephesians 3:20
