Celebrating Thanksgiving on a Plane

Celebrating Thanksgiving on a Plane.

Turns out, it's a little bit cheaper to fly to Thailand on Thanksgiving day itself, so that Thursday morning when you pull your turkey out of the refrigerator, please remember to pray for us!
This trip is our survey of Thailand, during which we will be traveling to various parts of the country to scout out language learning opportunities, meet the larger missionary team we will be partnering with, and to pray over the area that we feel God ultimately drawing us to, Nakhon Phanom. We have faith that God will use it to envision our hearts and to grow in us a love for the people of Isaan.
A few weeks ago, the Lord burdened my heart to create this prayer card for the Isaan people. 22,000,000 people, most of them will never even know a Christian and have no access to a Bible in their heart language (Isaan has no written language). TWENTY-TWO MILLION. Those tiny black dots on the map (can you see them?!- really small!) represent unreached people who don't have access to the gospel right now, and those two little red dots represent believers... two believers for every thousand people. The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. (Luke 10:2)

If God is uniting your heart with us to pray for the Isaan people, we would love to get this prayer card into your hands as a daily reminder for you to put on your fridge or in your prayer journal. Please email us at EnglandsInAsia@gmail.com with your address, and we will send one to you!

We are so grateful for the way God is using each of you to build our faith and growing our hearts together in love for the unreached. Thank you for your encouragement, prayers, financial support, and excitement for God's work among the Isaan!
Love and Blessings, Mandy and David

Prayer Points:
David and Mandy will be in Thailand from November 26- December 8.

  • Pray that God would envision us in how we can enter into the work that He is doing among the Isaan people and plant His love for the people of Isaan even more deeply in our hearts.
  • Pray that God would unite our hearts with the other missionaries of Team Isaan and help us to bond with them while we are there.
  • Pray that God would give us discernment about where and how He is calling us to learn the Thai language during our first year in Thailand.
  • Pray extra grace for my parents, who are kindly watching all three of our children while we are gone!
"I will make you as a light for the nations, that my salvation may reach to the end of the earth." Isaiah 49:6
